Bradford’s First Food Truck Festival a Roaring Success with over 13,000 people in attendance!
June 28, 2016, BRADFORD, ON…By now most people are celebrating the fact that our first Bradford Food Truck Festival, held this past Saturday, June 25th at Zehrs Markets was a roaring success.
“The weather was incredible and with an overwhelming crowd of 13,022 people entering the gates it was one of the largest single day food truck festivals around,” said BWG Events Group President and founding organizer Rick Brooks. Kim Bishop, owner of Texas Tornado Food Truck stated “Our family has been in this business for a long time so very rarely have we been as pleasantly surprised as we were on Saturday!! Thank you for all your hard work and support. You guys did a phenomenal job in organizing and marketing.”
Another food vendor quotes, “The event was indeed great. I know you would love to try and make this event better but from what I saw from this “First Year Event” this show IS NOT BROKEN it seemed as if you have been running it for years. Great Job for anybody who had a hand in it. You put a first class show on in a first class community. Slow clap to all” Sam Raffoul, owner of Ontario Corn Roasters.
From the moment of the ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday at noon where our government officials, Presenting Sponsor Summerlyn Dental Care, Gold Sponsor Zehrs Markets, and new sponsor Christopher Davies with Remax Realtron each said a few welcoming words, the fun never ended, the food lineups kept growing; it was a constant flow of fantastic entertainment and activity.
“We’ve had very positive feedback from community, the food trucks and our sponsors,” said Daniela Gray, Board Member and Special Events Coordinator. “After speaking with several food trucks about their participation, each one of the 16 trucks said to sign them back up for next year.”
“No first-time event comes without its challenges”, said Vanessa Morum, Board Member and Secretary/Treasurer. “The Group estimated attendance at 5,000 people for this event and by 7pm our attendance was already over 8,000 guests, which caused long lines and some food trucks to run out of food. “The Committee is already planning next year’s event where we will be taking into consideration feedback from the community. We will certainly look at bringing on additional food trucks, providing more shaded areas, offering a full Midway, and increasing the festival to a 2-day event.”
“On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank all of our generous sponsors: Summerlyn Dental Care, Zehrs Markets, Superior Events Group, Christopher Davies Remax, Shanahan Ford, The Mortgage Partners, Wilson Verduga Remax, Sara Singh Royal Lepage, Turnstile Security Systems Inc., The Bradford Times, Mini-Masters Montessori, Broadway Auto Sales, CRS Rental Supply, The Finest Wine Shoppe, Verona Travel, Lomonte & Collings, Chico’s Auto Collision and Joseph Viveiros, without whom BWG Events Group and the Bradford Food Truck Festival could not exist,” said Brooks. In addition, we want to thank all the food trucks and marketplace vendors You all played a huge part in helping us raise funds for President’s Choice Children’s Charity.”
